UAAP 81 Football: NU, Adamson battle to a draw anew
NU and Adamson battle to yet another 1-1 draw to kick off the second round of the UAAP Season 81 Men's Football Tournament

National University and Adamson University opened the second round of the UAAP Season 81 Men's Football Tournament with yet another stalemate as they battled to a 1-1 draw, Sunday afternoon at the FEU Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.

With their first round matchup going to a 1-1 draw back in opening day, both sides looked to gain the advantage in the season series.

Early on, it appeared as if the Bulldogs were on their way to notching the win after rookie sensation Ivan Ouano recorded his league-leading sixth goal of the season to put NU ahead in the 18th minute.

Adamson found their way back in the second half, courtesy of an equalizer for Ricardo Ortinez in the 64th minute.

Both sides had chances to break the deadlock late in the match, but neither side would manage a second conversion, as the scoreline stood at one goal apiece.

"Yung first half namin, talagang disappointed ako because we had a slow start and we conceded a goal. In the second half, talagang I told the boys na kailangan nating manalo this game because this is a good opportunity for us to go to the top five or top four," said Adamson head coach Arvin Soliman. "Sabi ko sa kanila, trabahuin natin yung second half, and nangyari naman. Unfortunately yung goals sana, natawagan pa ng foul."

With the draw, NU moves to two wins, three draws, and three losses for nine points.

Adamson moves to one win, five draws, and two losses for eight points.
