University of Sto. Tomas head coach Kungfu Reyes likes the Tigresses’ position in the race for a spot for a Final Four.

But the mentor knows that the road to the semis will get bumpier as they go deeper into the last stretch of the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament.

“May tinatarget kami so medyo clear, maliwanag ‘yung daan namin pero again, madaming nakaharang, kailangan naming lampasan na sama-sama kami. Na trinatrabaho namin sa ensayo lalong lalo na 'pag naglalaro kami,” said Reyes after UST swept past Adamson University, 25-15, 25-12-25-16, Wednesday to solidify its hold of the second spot.

UST now holds a 6-3 win-loss record and in the thick of the semis race despite losing Milena Alessandrini early in the season.

Still, Reyes remains wary of the tough battles ahead.

The Tigresses, who missed the Final Four last year, will take on three-time defending champion De La Salle University on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“So ngayon palapit ng palapit, so nagkakaroon kami ng mas legit na training,” said Reyes.
