UAAP Season 81: DLSU takes test of character vs. NU
Three-time defending champion De La Salle University looks to rebuild lost confidence after a stinging loss in its previous outing on Wednesday in a showdown against National University.

Humbled by a painful loss that saw De La Salle University throw away an atrocious number of service errors, the three-time defending champion Lady Spikers face another test of character Wednesday against a young and hungry National University side.

DLSU marches into battle at 4:00 p.m. hoping to bring back the energy and intensity that lacked in its previous outing to get rediscover its winning ways in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying v Centre in San Juan.

Action will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

The Lady Spikers tasted a bitter straight sets loss at the hands of University of the Philippines on Sunday with the Taft-based squad throwing away 17 miscues from the service line. UP swept DLSU in their elims head-to-head.

The Lady Spikers are in a four-way tie at second spot with 5-3 win-loss record tied with University of Sto. Tomas, UP and Far Eastern University.

A repeat of their win over the rookie-laden Lady Bulldogs in the first round could be enough to bring back the confidence back for DLSU coach Ramil de Jesus’ wards.

But NU is no pushover.

The Lady Bulldogs may have come from a four-set loss to University of the East but with young and aggressive players in Princess Robles and Ivy Lacsina leading the way, the Lady Spikers are sure to face tough resistance.

NU holds a 2-6 slate tied with UE.
