Limping Far Eastern University dukes it out against University of the East.
Far Eastern University marches into battle against University of the East sans injured rookie Lycha Ebon on Saturday in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Lady Tamaraws try to spark another winning run without their best scorer, who suffered a right knee injury the last time out, in the 2:00 p.m. match that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
FEU is at fourth to fifth spot tied with University of the Philippines with 5-3 win-loss record. The Lady Tams are fresh off a five-set win over Adamson University last Sunday in Antipolo, but paid a stiff price.
Ebon scored her 19th point of the match early in the fifth set but sustained a knee injury and was stretchered off the court. FEU already lost Jeanette Villareal to a right ankle sprain earlier in that duel.
While Ebon is out indefinitely, Villareal is expected to suit up to help Celine Domingo, Heather Guino-o and Jerrili Malabanan power the Lady Tams to a possible repeat of FEU’s first round win over the Lady Warriors.
UE, which dropped a five-set match against the Lady Tams, is fresh from a four-set victory over National University last week. The Lady Warriors hold a 2-6 card at solo sixth spot.
