After surgery I started rehabilitation. Iím fine. Just one week after surgery, now I 'mcontinuing (to recover) and see my progress -- Milena Alessandrini
Injured University of Sto. Tomas sophomore Milena Alessandrini is recovering just fine after undergoing surgery on her left knee a week ago.
The Fil-Italian hitter was present Sunday during the Tigresses’ match against the three-time defending champion De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the MOA Arena.
“I’m fine,” said Alessandrini, who had an immobilizer strapped on her left knee and was in crutches.
“After surgery, I started rehabilitation. I’m fine. Just one week after surgery, now I'm continuing (to recover) and see my progress,” added Alessandrini.
The 6-foot-2 hitter sustained a partial anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear and grade 3 sprain of the MCL (medial collateral ligament) and LCL (lateral collateral ligament) in the second set of their first round loss to Far Eastern University in just the fourth game of UST in the season. Alessandrini was then averaging 15.6 points per game.
Alessandrini said that she is yet to find out the specific timeline for her full recovery and return to action.
“I don’t know, tomorrow I will have a check-up. Tomorrow I will know,” she said.
