Kaya naman habulin for Saturday siguro. Mahihirapan pero kaya, ganun!
University of the Philippines hitter Isa Molde is not rushing her return to action but would rather recover fully from her left ankle injury.
“Siguro para sa akin kasi mas OK na mag-heal muna kesa ilalaro or ilalaban pa (ngayon),” said the fourth-year open spiker on Wednesday as she sat out the Lady Maroons’ 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-11 win over University of the East in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
But Molde admitted that she misses playing.
“Gusto ko na (makalaro) kasi ‘pag mahilig ka maglaro, ‘yung teammates mo makikita mong masaya syempre gusto ko feeling na ‘yun,” said Molde, who watched the match from the sidelines.
Molde sustained a grade 1 sprain after an awkward landing when she tried to avoid libero Mirgie Bautista following a hit in the second set of UP’s straight sets loss to league-leading Ateneo de Manila University.
The hitter was just relieved that she escaped any major injury. It was first reported that Molde also felt pain on her knee when she was stretchered back to the Lady Maroons’ dugout. Molde was brought to the Philippine General Hospital.
“Ang taas kasi ng pinanggalingan ko kaya ang sakit talaga. Noong nalaman kong ankle sprain lang, sobrang saya ko kasi, for sure, kaunti lang 'yung treatment para makalaro agad ako,” she said.
Molde will try to return on Saturday against Far Eastern University at the Big Dome.
“Ilalaban, ganern,” the bubbly Lady Maroon said with a chuckle.
“Kaya naman habulin for Saturday siguro. Mahihirapan pero kaya, ganun!” she added.
The Diliman-based squad is tied at third to fifth spot with University of Sto. Tomas and Far Eastern University with 6-4 win-loss record.
