UAAP Season 81: Lady Eagles target ninth win in a row
Ateneo de Manila University hunts for its ninth straight victory.

Red-hot Ateneo de Manila University braces for another tough match as it sets its sights on its ninth straight win against an equally dangerous Far Eastern University on Wednesday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Action begins at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

The Lady Eagles are on a tear, winning eight straight matches in nine outings to comfortably perch at the solo top spot.

Ateneo made quick work of University of the Philippines last Saturday with an emphatic sweep.

The Katipunan-based squad is looking to duplicate its win over the Lady Tamaraws in the first round.

Ateneo came back from two sets down to steal the win, 14-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-12, over FEU in their first meeting. This time though, the Lady Eagles will face a limping Lady Tams side with FEU still missing the services of injured prized recruit Lycha Ebon, who is expected to be out for at least three weeks after sustaining a left knee injury.

The Lady Tams are on a two-game roll against Adamson University and University of the East but both wins came off scary five-setters.

FEU sports a 6-3 record just half a game ahead of idle University of Sto. Tomas.
