In Philip Manalang, University of the East already has its point guard of the present.
The good news for the faithful over at Recto is that they have just gotten their point guard of the future.
Jasper Rentoy, a Filipino-Australian who has opened eyes in the last two NBTC League National Finals, bared last Sunday that he will now suit up for the Red Warriors. "I'm excited to announce that I have committed to UE," he said on a Facebook post.
The 6-foot-1 playmaker is fresh off an impressive run in this year's NBTC which saw him norm 23.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, three assists, and two steals for AusPinoy.
Rentoy will have to undergo one-year residency and will be good to go for the red and white come next year.
For now, he will get to learn under UE stalwart Manalang.
