Gio Pabualan was one of two Tamaraws to score, helping FEU defeat NU, 2-1 in the second round of the UAAP Season 81 Men's Football Tournament.
Far Eastern University snapped a two-game losing skid with a 2-1 victory over National University in the second round of the UAAP Season 81 Men’s Football Tournament, Thursday morning at the FEU Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.
After finishing the first round at the top of the standings, FEU stumbled quite a bit to begin the second round, suffering back-to-back losses to Ateneo and University of Santo Tomas.
Early on, it looked like FEU was headed to a third-consecutive loss after Angelo Paring put NU on the board first in the 36th minute.
In the second half, it was all FEU, as the Tamaraws roared back, kicked-off by an equalizing goal from rookie Gio Pabualan in the 48th minute, followed by a go-ahead goal from Dominique Canonigo just nine minutes later.
With the win, FEU improves to five wins, three draws, and two losses for 18 points, as they regain the top spot in the standings.
NU meanwhile, drops to 10 points off two wins, four draws, and four losses.
