Already assured of a spot in the Final Four, graduating University of Sto. Tomas hitter Sisi Rondina is now aiming for something higher: a championship appearance.

Sabi ko nga na nangangarap akong umabot sa championship, lagi kong ire-remind sa kanila yun,” said Rondina who wants a glorious exit in her swan song in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament.

The fifth year power-hitter marched into her second Final Four stint even before the Tigresses’ 25-23, 25-18, 25-23, demolition of Far Eastern University on Sunday at the MOA Arena all thanks to National University’s win over University of the Philippines.

UST improved to 9-4 record at third spot can even clinch a semis twice-to-beat advantage outright if it wins against National University on April 27 and three-time defending champion De La Salle University losing its last two games. The Tigresses can force a playoff for the semis advantage if they win their last game and the Lady Spikers lose one of their last two games.

Rondina powered the Espana-based squad in the all-important victory with 21 points off 17 spikes, three aces and a kill block laced with 15 digs and 12 excellent receptions.

“Sana mabigyan nila ako ng magandang exit,” she added. Ngayon, OK na ako eh. Sobrang overwhelmed na ako.”

Rondina is keeping her hopes high for a Finals stint. It may be an uphill climb but she’s willing to do her part.

It will now depend on how her the rest of her teammates will respond.

“Pero sinasabi ko naman sa kanila, walang imposible kung mangarap tayo ng todo-todo at trabahuin namin,” she said.
