Geo Chiu will continue doing his best in harnessing his potential while wearing blue and white
Geo Chiu made a huge leap from his rookie year to his second and final year in the UAAP Juniors.
Now, he hopes to keep moving forward with his development under the tutelage of, without a doubt, the best collegiate coach in the country.
Chiu has committed to stay in Ateneo de Manila University, where he will be promoted from the Blue Eaglets to the Blue Eagles. "I will be staying sa Ateneo po," he said.
The 18-year-old would have won Most Improved Player in Season 82 if there was such an award in the UAAP.
He averaged a near double-double of 9.5 points and 9.8 rebounds to go along with 1.8 assists and 1.5 blocks a year after only posting per game counts of 3.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 0.9 blocks.
Still, the 6-foot-8 remains a work in progress as he is not yet automatic from the inside and far from a sure shot from the line or from the midrange. His handles, playmaking, and defense are all also still in their early stages of development.
Nonetheless, Chiu has the size to be a force as well as the determination to harness his potential.
Even better, he will be learning under head coach Tab Baldwin who has proven time and again that he is more than capable of getting the most out of his players.
