Repeat-seeking semifinals-bound National University hunts for its 12th straight victory.
Defending champion National University guns to boost its bid for the no. 1 spot in the Final Four while Far Eastern University is out to clinch the last twice-to-beat advantage on Wednesday against their respective foes in the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball tournament.
The rampaging Bulldogs march into action at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan against struggling University of the Philippines at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Tamaraws’ showdown with De La Salle University at 10:00 a.m.
Both matches will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
NU is on top of the standings with an 11-1 win-loss record – riding the crest of an 11-game winning streak - and is already assured of a Final Four incentive. The Bulldogs need to win their last two games against the Fighting Maroons and FEU (April 28) to secure the no. 1 spot in the semis.
UP is reeling from a four-game losing skid and is sitting at the bottom of the standings with a 1-11 slate.
Meanwhile, the Tams carry a 10-2 mark and only need to win one more match to secure a twice-to-beat advantage in the semis. FEU is coming off back-to-back victories.
The Green Spikers carry a 4-8 mark at fifth spot.
