UE scored a last-minute goal to hold Adamson to a 1-1 draw in the second round of the UAAP Season 81 Men's Football Tournament.
In a battle of two squads looking to end their season on a high note, University of the East managed to score late to hold Adamson University to a 1-1 draw, Thursday afternoon at the FEU-Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.
Enjoying their best season since returning to the UAAP football festivities back in Season 77, Adamson looked to capture a record third win, and early on it appeared as though they were well on their way to doing so after Allen Lozano connected on an early goal in just the 15th minute off a perfectly-executed set piece.
The Red Warriors managed to avoid another heartbreaking defeat, thanks to a last-minute conversion from Champ Marin, who capitalized off a scramble near the Adamson goal.
With the draw, UE moves to 2 wins, 3 draws, and 7 losses for 9 points so far in the season. With two more matches left, the Red Warriors still have a chance to improve on their standing for Season 80.
Adamson, meanwhile, closes out their best season since returning to the UAAP with 12 points off 2 wins, 6 draws, and 6 losses.
