UAAP Season 81: Adamson ends slump in season-ender

Adamson University stopped a nine-game losing skid to finish the season on a high note.
Adamson University arrested a nine-game losing skid at the expense of a disheartened University of the Philippines, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19, on Saturday at the end of their campaign in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Joy Dacoron put the punctuation mark on her last game as part of the Lady Falcons, hitting the match-clinching running kill to give Adamson its second win after 14 games.
Chiara Permentilla played her best game of the season, scoring 16 point off 12 spikes, three aces and a kill block for the Lady Falcons. Dacoron posted 11 markers while graduating Eli Soyud and Bernadette Flora got 10 points each for Adamson.
Flora added 21 digs and 13 excellent receptions while MJ Igao tallied 22 excellent sets for the Lady Falcons.
"Una sobrang saya dahil sa wakas nasunod na sistema,” said Adamson coach Onyok Getigan. “Malalim na pagsunod sa coach andun talaga and then lahat nag-step up ultimo mga pinasok kong rookie nagbigay ng puntos talaga.”
The Lady Maroons, who were shown the exit door in the Final Four race before the Holy Week break after losing to National University, finished their campaign with four straight losses for a 6-8 win-loss card.
Tots Carlos got 13 points, Isa Molde had 10 while graduating Marian Buitre finished her collegiate career with four markers for UP. Outgoing setter Ayel Estranero dished out 20 excellent sets before bidding goodbye to the Lady Maroons.
