Outgoing University of the East libero Kath Arado will remain with the Lady Warriors in a different role.
Kath Arado will stay with University of the East.
The libero may have exhausted all of her playing eligibility with the Lady Warriors but her services will still be available for the red and white albeit in a different role.
The prized libero confirmed on Sunday her intention to apply for a coaching staff spot following her final game with the Lady Warriors in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament.
“Tingnan natin,” answered Arado when asked about her staying with UE as part of Karl Dimaculangan’s coaching staff. “Oo, may resume na ako.”
“Ako nga tagatanggal ng stress ni coach e,” Arado added in jest.
The Season 77 Rookie of the Year closed her five-year collegiate stint with 28 digs and 13 excellent receptions in the Lady Warriors’ 20-25, 25-27, 11-25, loss to semis-bound Ateneo de Manila University.
UE athletic director Rod Roque said that the two-time Best Digger and Season 80 Best Receiver will have a specific role if she gets the spot.
“I already recommended her papers to the UE president,” said Roque. “She will be a defensive coach.”
