The year of gold and winning continues for Nazareth School of National University.
National U-backed National Capital Region had no problems in the recently concluded 2019 Palarong Pambansa, triumphing in each and every game it featured in.
NCR capped off another dominant run in the national meet by throttling Central Luzon, 103-79, in the championship matchup last Saturday in Davao.
Terrence Fortea topped the scoring column with 22 points while Gerry Abadiano and Reyland Torres chipped in 17 and 15 markers, respectively.
All tournament long though, it was team captain Abadiano who was brilliant and as such, was recognized as MVP.
This is the third gold medal in a row for the boys from Metro Manila, following their wins in Antique in 2016 and then Ilocos Sur in 2017. This is also the third time in a row that their team was made up mostly by Bullpups.
The Palarong Pambansa title is the latest prize in what has been an overpowering three-month stretch from March to May which has also seen coach Gold and NU win championships in the UAAP and then the NBTC.
