University of Sto. Tomas will try to clinch its first Finals berth in eight years against the three-time defending champion De La Salle University hoping to force a decider.
Twice-to-beat University of Sto. Tomas eyes its first Finals appearance in eight years in a clash with defending three-time champion De La Salle University in UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball Final Four at the MOA Arena.
Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
UST secured a semis advantage for the first time since Season 73 – the Tigresses’ last Finals stint – after beating the Lady Spikers in a playoff for the Final Four incentive last Wednesday for a virtual best-of-three showdown.
Graduating hitter Sisi Rondina, the frontrunner in the Most Valuable Player race, and top rookie Eya Laure will try to tow the Tigresses to the best-of-three championship round.
UST is coming off a five-game winning streak and holds the momentum in its rematch against Season 79 semis tormentor DLSU.
On the other hand, the Lady Spikers are in an unfamiliar territory since the Final Four started in 2005. The four-peat-seeking squad now needs to win two games to advance to its 11th straight championship appearance.
DLSU will lean on graduating senior Des Cheng, Lourdes Clemente, Aduke Ogunsanya, May Luna, setter Michelle Cobb and rookie Jolina Dela Cruz to force a decider.
If, necessary, the winner-take-all match is on Wednesday.
