Far Eastern University and Ateneo de Manila University dispute the right to face University of Sto. Tomas in the Finals.

It all boils down to who wants it more.

For one last time, Ateneo de Manila University and Far Eastern University clash for the right to claim the remaining championship berth in the UAAP Season 81 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Opening serve is at 3:30 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Already waiting the best-of-three Finals is University of Sto. Tomas. Game 1 of the Finals is on Saturday.

With their backs against the wall, the Lady Tamaraws shot down the twice-to-beat Lady Eagles in a five-set thriller, 10-25, 25-23, 25-22, 12-25, 15-8, last Saturday to force the decider.

FEU head coach George Pascua knows that the win just evened the semis series and their work is not yet finished.

“Hindi pa time to celebrate, marami pa kaming mga bagay na ipi-fix for Game 2 kasi I’m sure sa Game 2 ibang team ang makikita namin both team. Ibang intense na laro,” he said.

Pascua will bank on his graduating hitters Heather Guino-o and Jerrili Malabanan to lead the Lady Tams’ charge to get back into the Finals after a runner-up finish last year behind dethroned De La Salle University, which fell to the Tigresses in five sets in the other semis pairing.

Meanwhile, the Lady Eagles will try to recover from their loss – only the third of Ateneo this season – to make a return into the championship round after missing the cut last year when they were booted out by FEU.

Graduating players Maddie Madayag and Bea De Leon will rally Ateneo to one more battle to book a Finals ticket.
