University of Sto. Tomas rookie Eya Laure sustained a mild left ankle sprain in the third set but is expected to return to action.
University of Sto. Tomas rookie Eya Laure hurt her left ankle after a bad landing at the start of the third set of the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball best-of-three Finals Game 2 against Ateneo de Manila University on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.
The prized hitter, who won the Rookie of the Year and 1st Best Open spiker awards, was carried out of the court and back to their dugout of the Tigresses, who lead the series, 1-0.
"Mild ankle sprain lang pero pero siyempre masakit," said Laure father, Eddie, who helped carry her daughter back in UST's locker room. "Ok naman niyeyelo lang para mawala yung sakit, makakabalik."
Laure twisted the same ankle in the opening set.
The match was tied at one set apiece.
