Ateneo's crowd, littler than it may have been, was not going to be outdone by UST's
Game 2 of the UAAP 81 Women's Volleyball Finals was jam-packed and the Mall of Asia Arena was covered in either blue or yellow on Wednesday.
To observers, it seemed like University of Sto. Tomas fans outnumbered Ateneo de Manila University's.
Still, that ratio didn't affect the Lady Eagles as they romped to a four-set triumph over the Golden Tigresses.
"I think it's a good experience na we've been here a couple of times. You really learn to tune the crowd out," Bea De Leon said.
Indeed, the Katipunan volleybelles have had their fair share of big games - having been in the Finals seven of the last eight years.
More than that, they got a big boost from their own crown which, though outnumbered, kept making their voices be heard. "Actually, kahit kain yung crowd (namin), they really tried to overpower (pa rin yung kabila)," she said.
She then continued, "Sobrang thankful namin na kahit yun, linalabanan nila."
And so, for all y'all who never tired of shouting "One Big Fight," Ateneo team captain Bea De Leon sends her regards.
