Nazareth School of National University wasted no time in stamping its class in the 2019 Asean School Games, pounding on home team Indonesia, 87-47, Sunday at GOR Sahabat in Semarang.
Carl Tamayo pounded in 20 points in only 20 minutes of action while Terrence Fortea also poured in 15 markers in just 18 minutes of play for the Bullpups who are out for back-to-back championships in the regional meet.
The kings of UAAP Jrs. were in complete command from start to finish, blasting off to a 14-2 start that ultimately turned into a 29-9 lead after the opening salvo.
Their lead would only balloon to as much as 42, 87-45, late in the game.
In the end, youngster Harold Alarcon scored 10 points of his own while team captain Gerry Abadiano contributed six markers, five assists, and three rebounds.
Freego and Oriental Group of Companies-backed Team Philippines now turns its attention to Malaysia which is coming off a loss to Thailand in the opener.
All in all, NU will be competing against the best young talent Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand have to offer.
