Terrence Fortea was on fire in each and every moment he was on the floor inside the GOR Sahabat in Semarang, Indonesia on Monday and shot Nazareth School of National University to a 56-point destruction of Malaysia, 118-62, in the 2019 Asean School Games.
Fortea scored 27 points built on five triples to go along with seven rebounds and three steals to propel the Bullpups to back-to-back wins in their title defense in the regional meet.
The scoring machine was on the floor for only 23 minutes, meaning he was contributing a little over a point per minute.
He also hit the last four points in the UAAP Jrs. Kings’ 13-0 start to the game.
Team Philippines, supported by and Oriental Group of Companies, would never look back en route to an emphatic entry into the gold medal round.
In the end, Fortea was flanked by talented transferee Nap Tulabut who had 20 points, six rebounds, and four steals while big men Carl Tamayo and Aaron Buensalida also merged for 26 markers and 14 boards.
All in all, NU will be competing against the best young talent Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand have to offer.
