La Salle is all set to unleash more than a few Filipino-foreigners in the upcoming UAAP 82
De La Salle University is plotting a big-time surprise in the upcoming UAAP Seaon 82 Men's Basketball Tournament in the form of four Filipino-foreigners.
6-foot playmaker Keyshawn Evans, 6-foot-5 swingman Andrew Singson, 6-foot-7 wing Jamie Orme, and 6-foot-9 big James Laput are brand new Green Archers, as per sources with knowledge of the matter.
The development was first reported by Tiebreaker Times.
The four Fil-fors will be eligible for the Taft-based team in Season 82 opening on September.
However, Evans, Orme, and Laput will only go one-and-done as they already graduated with bachelor's degrees and will take a masters course in La Salle.
As per UAAP rules, a student-athlete from a non-member school who is pursuing graduate studies in a member school shall not be subject to residency.
Singson, on the other hand, is a recruit fresh out of high school and may play for a maximum of five years.
The four Fil-fors are nothing but welcome additions to the Green Archers who lost all of team captain Kib Montalbo, Miggy Corteza, Mark Dyke, Jollo Go, Taane Samuel, and Santi Santillan in the offseason.
They also join local blue-chip recruits Joel Cagulangan and Joshua David in a core now led by Justine Baltazar, Andrei Caracut, and Aljun Melecio.
La Salle is eyeing a return to the Final Four under the guidance of head coach Gian Nazario and active consultant Jermaine Byrd.
