Kiefer Ravena had not watched a UAAP game live in two years.
On Sunday at MOA Arena, he had the best seats in the house - as a panelist in the matchup between University of Sto. Tomas and National University.
"Tinanong lang nila kung free ako and kinuha nila ako. Ako, I just wanted to try it out," he shared after his basketball broadcast debut. "Nag-enjoy naman ako. Hopefully, nagawa ko trabaho ko for the people."
Of course, the Gilas Pilipinas guard had nothing but a good time in his return to the UAAP. "I missed it a lot kasi the Ateneo game (yesterday against Far Eastern University) was the first game I watched live in two years. This is the first game I covered naman so the atmosphere, the people, I really missed those. "
At the same time, however, Ravena had to avoid many things he had been used to now he was on camera and on the mic. As he put it, "May mga gusto kang sabihin na 'di mo pwedeng sabihin. Kagaya nang, 'Hayop na tira yun!'"
He then contineud, "'Di mo maiiwasan e kaya minsan, ang tagal ko nagpo-pause e kasi may mga gusto akong sabihin, pero oops, 'di pala pwede."
Make no mistake, though, the 25-year-old remains committed to NLEX whenever the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup rolls around. "That's the priority," he answered when asked about the conference opening on Sunday.
Still, Ravena also added that he would love to be on the best seats in the house once more. "We'll see, depende sa schedule. Basta ako naman, I want to see more basketball lang," he said.
