Far Eastern University is yet to have a win run in the UAAP 82 Men's Basketball Tournament.
What the Tamaraws do have, however, is a wonderful run of games by point guard of the present and the future, L-Jay Gonzales.
Through five games in his first season as the green and gold's lead guard, he has posted 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.4 steals in 24 minutes of play.
The 5-foot-8 playmaker turned in his strongest showing yet last Sunday in FEU's matchup opposite rival University of Sto. Tomas with a collegiate career-best 16 points on top of four rebounds and three assists.
Unfortunately, that career game eventually ended in a loss - and of course, Gonzales would rather take the W. "Siyempre, mas pipiliin ko yung panalo.
For the speedster, the Tamaraws are still in the process of putting it all together. As he put it, "Marami pa kaming pagkukulang.
But sooner or later, the 20-year-old promises the faithful over at Morayta that they will get there.
And for that to happen, he knows full well he has to be consistent with, well, his consistency.
