ANTIPOLO - Andrei Caracut and Aljun Melecio finished what Justine Baltazar started as De La Salle University barged back into the win column in the UAAP 82 Men's Basketball Tournament by bringing down Adamson University, 68-61, Saturday at Ynares Center here.

Caracut had no makes from deep until the last two minutes of the game when his back-to-back threes energized the 10-3 finishing kick that put the Green Archers back inside the winners' circle now at 2-3. "Thank you, Andrei, for the three-point shots," head coach Gian Nazario said post-game.

In all, the graduating guard hit two triples and one free throw while Melecio chimed in three markers of his own in the game-winning run that put an end to the Taft-based team two-game slide.

In the end, Caracut had 15 points while Melecio had four markers, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Before that, though, it was Baltazar who towered above the competition and totaled 21 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

With the bounce back win, La Salle is only hoping to keep moving forward. "When you have a 1-3 standing, you get uncomfortable. Yun yung nag-test sa amin sa first four games and we just have to stick together," coach Gian said.

For the Soaring Falcosn, Jerrick Ahanmisi and Val Chauca topped the scoring column with 13 points apiece. Running out of gas in the last two minutes, though, their roller-coaster ride continues now at 3-3.
