UAAP 82: Tigresses lead three-way tie at 3-0 in women's beach volleyball

Defending women's champion University of Sto. Tomas, De La Salle University and Far Eastern University ended the second day of UAAP Season 82 Women's Beach Volleyball tied for the lead at the Sands SM By The Bay Wednesday.
Last season's top rookie Babylove Barbon and new partner Gen Eslapor gave the Tigresses back-to-back wins in Day 2 of the event with victories over Ateneo de Manila University and National University.
UST overpowered the Lady Eagles duo of Ponggay Gaston and Roma Mae Doromal, 21-13, 21-11, and followed it up with a 21-4, 21-8 romp of Lady Bulldogs Andrea Abian and Chlea dela Fuente.
Not to be outdone are the Season 81 runner-up Lady Spikers, as Tin Tiamzon and Justine Jazareno swept University of the Philippines' Rosie Rosier and Euri Eslapor, 21-19, 21-18, after outlasting Adamson University's Kring Uy and Chen Ave, 19-21, 21-18, 15-12, in the morning session.
On the other hand, the Lady Tamaraws' Sheena Gallentes and Sheila Mae Kiseo needed three sets to beat Adamson, 21-13, 20-22, 15-5, after also going through the wringer against UP, 21-18, 21-23, 15-12.
Ateneo entered the win column with a 23-21, 21-11 conquest of University of the East's Lyen Ritual and Juliet Catindig.
The Lady Eagles tied their victims, which defeated NU, 21-9, 21-17, in the morning match, and the Lady Falcons in fourth spot at 1-2.
The Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Maroons remain winless in three matches.
Action resumes on Saturday with four matches starting at 10:40 a.m.
