University of Sto. Tomas head coach Aldin Ayo is yet to win a game against former team De La Salle University.
Coach Aldin was at the wrong end of a season sweep a season ago and in the two teams’ first meeting this year, the Growling Tigers yet again succumbed to the Green Archers.
And so, the one-time NCAA and one-time UAAP champion coach is no 0-3 versus the Taft-based team he had coached for two years.
That isn’t a big deal at all, according to coach Aldin himself. “Hindi naman nagma-matter yun,” he said.
Rather, he pointed to the fact that La Salle, without a doubt, took the win from UST. “Siguro, nagkataon lang na we played bad and they played better. They really outplayed us,” he said.
With the loss, the Growling Tigers remained in third-place with a 4-3 standing.
And in the next round, they are only well aware of what they need to work on. As their multi-titled mentor put it, “It all boils down to decision-making. Yun ang kailangan naming trabahuin pagdating ng second round.”
