Justine Baltazar towered above all with a dominant double-double of 25 points and 25 rebounds, Sunday at MOA Arena, and towed De La Salle University to a 85-61 beatdown of National University for its first back-to-back wins in the UAAP 82 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Bulldogs actually scored the game’s first three points before the Green Archers responded with a 26-6 rush for a 26-9 edge after the opening salvo.

Just at the half, Baltazar already had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds and he would only put pedal to the metal the rest of the way.

The fourth-year center got 10 of his rebounds at the offensive end while also getting two blocks, proving to be too much for the Bulldogs.

Andrei Caracut and Jamie Malonzo contributed 16 and 12 points, respectively, as the Taft-based team scored back-to-back wins for the first time in the tournament. "We just wanted a different approach in the second round so our mindset changed," active consultant Jermaine Byrd said post-game.

La Salle's defense was just as impressive as they only allowed the Bulldogs to make good on 32.9 percent of their shots and slowed down Dave Ildefonso to just 11 points.

Having finally gone streaking, the Green Archers now find themselves at joint third in the standings.

On the other hand, National U dropped down even more now at 1-7. Aside from the younger Ildefonso, kuya Shaun was the only other player in double-digits with 10 points.
