Ateneo de Manila University has not bowed to archrival De La Salle University since November 29, 2017.

That means that it has been nearly two years since the last time the Blue Eagles lost to the Green Archers.

That also means that Thirdy Ravena may have very well played his last Ateneo-La Salle rivalry game - and he comes out a winner. "Nakakalungkot yung thought na after all these years, it will come to an end na," he told reporters post-game.

Of course, there remains a chance that the Taft-based team and their fierce foes from Katipunan will meet again in the playoffs.

As of right now, though, Ravena may very well end his collegiate career with a 9-6 record against their archrivals.

Still, the graduating forward knows full well that they haven't won anything yet - even though they got to re-assert their mastery over La Salle. "The fact of the matter is we're still in-season. We still have to focus on the other teams that we're gonna play because the next game is the most important game, that's our mentality," he shared.

He the continued, "Yung mga ganung emotions, we can celebrate those after. We just have to make sure to do our job."

Indeed, head coach Tab Baldwin said the defending champions have much to improve on even though they became the first team to be assured of playing in the next round. As he put it, "I think we can play better, but you got to give credit to La Salle for forcing us to not play as well as we know that we could and know that we should."

He then continued, "We don't think we're a great basketball team so there's always things to work on."
