The Blue Eagles really did it.
Ateneo has swept the elimination round of UAAP Season 82 men’s basketball and will enter the Finals with an immaculate 14-0 record.
The Blue Eagles will have a shot at a perfect season to go along with a 3-peat. This special opportunity demands a special By the Numbers edition.
Consecutive wins for Ateneo this season, add to their winning streak last year and the Blue Eagles have won 24 straight games in the UAAP.
That’s some next level dominance for the Big Bad Blue and it looks like the champs are not slowing down.

The last time a UAAP team swept the elimination round was in 2007 when the UE Red Warriors did it, and they got swept in the Finals. Ateneo is not sure of a title in Season 82 but winnning 14 straight games in the season is a good place to start.
Ateneo’s 5-peat team never swept the elimination round, not even once. This is a special group of Blue Eagles coach Tab Baldwin has.

Considering how both of their games went so far, it’s not much of a challenge. The other two teams that have a shot at Ateneo, FEU and UST, the Blue Eagles also handled quite well.

Angelo Kouame is plus 214 and Thirdy Ravena is plus 202 this season. In fact, all Ateneo players except one have positive ratings.
Just how on Earth do you beat this team? We’ll see in the Finals if one team can manage.
