Kiefer Ravena has been making waves once more in his first full conference back for NLEX in the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup.
At the same time, he has been moonlighting as analyst in the ongoing UAAP 82 Men's Basketball Tournament.
And there, the former two-time champion and two-time MVP in the UAAP has had the best seat the house to watch the league's most competitive season in recent history.
As many as six teams were in the running for four slots in the semifinals.
Sprinkled throughout those teams were tantalizing talents ranging from battle-hardened veterans to hungry youngsters and from one-and-done studs to breakout stars.
Of course, game recognize game - and for "The Phenom," the new generation of UAAP stars are just on a different level. "Ibang klase. Ibang klase na ang college players ngayon - very athletic, very talented," he said.
He then continued, "The kuyas are just waiting for them in the pros."
In particular, Ravena's eyes were opened by a handful of first- and second-year players. Asked who have been impressive for him, he answered, "A lot of guys naman. The usual names - sina Rhenz [Abando], [Mark] Nonoy, Dave [Ildefonso], Shaun [Ildefonso], si L-Jay Gonzales."
He also added, while beaming, "Also, this guy named Thirdy."
