The University of the Philippines remained winless against University of Sto. Tomas in the UAAP 82 Men's Basketball Tournament.

After getting swept in the elimination round, the Fighting Maroons bowed anew to the Growling Tigers, Sunday at Araneta Coliseum,

And worse, State U was dominated from start to finish to see its twice-to-beat advantage go to waste.

In the end, head coach Bo Perasol could only lament how UP allowed UST to dictate the tempo. "The way we played in most of the quarters, there's just no way we can win against UST. We need to be a lot better," he said.

Indeed, the Fighting Maroons were dominated in most statistics as the Growling Tigers scored a wire-to-wire win.

In particular, Coach Bo did not like at all how they were not only outplayed, but outworked as well. "We cannot just be the recipient of their aggressiveness - we need to match them. We have to understand that the reason we lost three times this season against UST is because they outhustled us," he said.

Without a doubt, the black and gold was just aggressive all game long and as such, made good on 20-of-31 from the free throw line as compared to the maroon and green's 12-of-20.

That cannot happen again - especially as UP will be fighting for dear life on Wednesday at MOA Arena "The silver lining is we put ourselves in the situation that we have another chance. That chance is going to be the last one for us and if we want to be given the chance to be in the Finals again, we really have to play better," their mentor said.

That is even truer as if the Fighting Maroons do finally find a way against UST, they will be headed to a faceoff with defending champion Ateneo de Manila University. "If this is the way we play against Ateneo, we are just going to be a show for Ateneo. We couldn't bring this type of game against any team," Coach Bo said.

He then continued, "We have to be better."
