The University of the Philippines remains winless in three tries against University of Sto. Tomas in the UAAP 82 Men's Basketball Tournament.
The fact that the Fighting Maroons' haven't figured out the Growling Tigers and the former's twice-to-beat advantage got discarded by the latter isn't lost on Bo Perasol.
And it also isn't lost on State U's head coach that, of course, their playoff foes have the mental edge over them. "Oo naman. Oo naman may mental edge sila, but any edge can be overcome pag matibay din yung isip ninyo," he shared.
He then continued, "You don't have any choice but to fight back."
Indeed, if UP fails to figure out UST on Wednesday, it will have to bid bye-bye to its hope of challenging Ateneo de Manila University in the Finals once more.
With that, Coach Bo called on the Fighting Maroons to play with a sense of urgency. As he put it, "Never in our minds na twice-to-beat, relax muna sa una. Simply put, talo talaga and if you ask me, walang chance (last Sunday) so we need to be better."
He then continued, "Even if we're going to be five-times-to-beat or six-times-to-beat, if we're going to play like that, we're still going to lose five times, six times. Kaya in this knockout game, if we just be better, may tsansa kami."
