Aldin Ayo is in University of Sto. Tomas to stay.
The one-time NCAA and one-time UAAP champion coach himself said so after the Growling Tigers' campaign in the UAAP 82 Men's Basketball Tournament came to a close, Wednesday. "I have one more year left so I'll leave that to the managers kung ano yung gagawin nilang makaka-stay ako sa UST," he said.
He then continued, "Ang binitiwan ko na commitment sa kanila, hindi ako aalis sa UST unless UST ang umalis sa akin, unless UST ang umayaw sa akin."
Coach Aldin has just wrapped up the second season in what is a three-year contract.
That season featured an improbable run which saw them go from the fourth-seed to the Finals.
And whatever it is, the fiery mentor assured Espana that he will remain there - as it had already fulfilled its end of their bargain. "Mahal na mahal ko ang UST. Mahal na mahal ko ang UST community," he shared.
He then continued, "Yung sinasabi ko na personal growth na (dahilan) kaya ako lumipat ng UST, I was able to achieve that."
More than that, coach Aldin said he wouldn't want to leave behind the love the community has for its Growling Tigers. As he put it, "Kung paano kami itrato ng mga pari, ng mga students, ng mga alumni, first time ko maka-experience nang ganyang kainit na suporta."
