ANTIPOLO — With a perfect Season 82 and a three-peat, Thirdy Ravena has surpassed his kuya Kiefer in terms of UAAP accolades.
Thirdy ends his Ateneo career with three UAAP titles and three Finals MVPs.
When Kiefer made his exit from Katipunan, he had two championships and had two season MVP awards.
As he sees his younger brother grow up and his beloved Ateneo once again establish as basketball dynasty, Kiefer has nothing but good words for the Blue Eagles.
“I’m very proud of my school, I’m very proud of how the season turned out. Of course, my brother, that’s one thing he really worked hard for,” Kiefer said Wednesday after Ateneo, led by Thirdy, completed a 16-0 sweep of Season 82 by taking down UST in the Finals.
“He’s always been compared and actually now, he surpassed me pagdating sa UAAP. Props to them. He really worked hard for it, he deserves it. Three Finals MVPs, three championships. What more can you ask for to end your collegiate career?” the older Ravena added.
After years of comparison between the two basketball Phenoms, Kiefer is more than content to be known as just “Thirdy’s brother.”
And as the younger Ravena ponders on his basketball future after Ateneo, Kiefer and the rest of their winning family will be on deck to support all the way.
“As someone who played for that school, I’m very proud of my alma mater, and as a kuya, I’m more than proud to be Thirdy’s kuya,” Kiefer said.
“I’m more popularly known now as Thirdy’s brother. Whatever he decides on, we’ll be supporting him no matter what,’ he added.
