Thirdy Ravena is the first and only three-time Finals MVP in UAAP Men’s Basketball.
And his latest trophy was just further proof that on the biggest stage and under the brightest lights, Ravena is at his best.
Posting per game counts of 24.5 points on 55 percent shooting to go along with six rebounds and four assists, the 6-foot-3 wing was the biggest thorn on the side of University of Sto. Tomas.
And of course, his primetime performance, just the latest among many, only got rave reviews. “Thirdy is an incredible competitor. He’s a fighter,” head coach Tab Baldwin said.
For coach Tab, Ravena is the perfect example of how to play with fire - but just the right quantity and quality of fire. As he put it, “He’s emotional and because of that, he can go the wrong way as easily as he can go the right way.”
He then continued, “Fortunately for us, he goes the right way a lot.”
