Just two days after playing his last game for University of Sto. Tomas, Renzo Subido is already back at work.
Subido has wasted no time in picking up a basketball once more as he trained for the first time with MPBL's San Juan Knights on Friday.
This, just two days after he and the rest of the Growling Tigers closed their campaign in the UAAP 82 Men's Basketball Tournament as runners-up.
Now, however, the 5-foot-7 playmaker will help out a league-leading San Juan side already in the stretch run of its title defense.
Tentatively, Subido's league debut will be on Monday at up against Makati.
Whenever and wherever he finally plays his first game in the semi-professional ranks, the 23-year-old has been prepared to the utmost by Aldin Ayo.
"All season long, I was very, very hard on him. Tinutukan ko siya at may mga aspeto ng laro niya at pagkatao niyang sinubukan kong baguhin at i-improve," the UST head coach shared. "Alam naman namin pareho na, in the long run, makakatulong yun sa kanya."
