Nazareth School of National University and Ateneo de Manila High School are all set to collide in the UAAP 82 Boys' Basketball Tournament with a full head of steam following separate well-earned wins last Sunday at Paco Arena.

The Bullpups ran roughshod over winless University of the Philippines Integrated School, 115-56.

Gerry Abadiano turned in his best game of the tournament and topped the scoring column with 18 points, but all 16 players fielded in by head coach Goldwin Monteverde also made their mark.

Carl Tamayo contributed 16 points and six rebounds while twin tower Kevin Quiambao posted yet another double-double of 12 markers and 10 boards.

The defending champions took control right from tip off and never looked back all the way to their sixth win in as many games.

Last year's runner-up Ateneo had to work harder, but nonetheless put away very game University of Sto. Tomas, 85-81, in overtime.

Transferees Josh Lazaro and Lebron Lopez were yet again big for the Blue Eaglets with the former finishing with 24 points, 18 rebounds, and four blocks and the latter ending with his own 17 markers, 18 boards, and one swat.

The backcourt of Forthsky Padrigao and Ian Espinosa then merged for 25 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds to help the blue and white score back-to-back wins and improve to 4-2 heading into their rematch with National U on Wednesday.

For the Tiger Cubs who fell to 2-4, Jethro Escoto showed the way with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.

Meanwhile, the streaks also continued for Far Eastern University-Diliman and Adamson High School after they took care of their own business.

The Baby Tamaraws continued their charge by outclassing De La Salle Zobel 80-63.

Penny Estacio kept up his personal tear with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals while running mate Jorick Bautista chimed in 15 markers and 10 boards of his own for their fifth win in a row after a season-opening loss.

The Baby Falcons powered through University of the East, 72-65, thanks to heavy artillery brought by John Erolon.

The impressive rookie wound up with 16 points built on five triples as John Figueroa posted a 10-marker, 18-rebound double-double in their third consecutive victory and fourth overall in six games.

On the other hand, the Jr. Archers fell to 2-4 and the Jr. Warriors fell to 1-5 with their respective losses.
