Evan Nelle is going back to his roots.
Fresh off a breakout season for San Beda University that saw him finish as MVP runner-up, Nelle has decided to take his talents to De La Salle University.
For the primetime playmaker, the reason is pretty simple - to continue challenging himself. "I want to get out of my comfort zone. I want to spready my wings," he said.
Nelle wowed just about everybody in his second season as a Red Lion, and first as a starter, as he put up per game counts of 10.2 points, 6.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.6 steals.
With that, the 5-foot-11 guard made sure San Beda didn't skip a beat even after the graduation of Robert Bolick.
Now, however, he has decided to go to, in his eyes, greener pastures - greener pastures he once roamed.
Before starring for the Red Cubs and the Red Lions, Nelle called La Salle Zobel his home from prep to grade school and was part of the varsity team since Grade 3.
Now, he will be donning the green and white once more - carrying the torch as lead guard from the graduating Aljun Melecio.
The 21-yearold will sit out next year for residency before being eligible in Season 84.
