The Ildefonso line continues in National University, but at the same time, it’s rekindling a new flame in Ateneo de Manila University as well.
Shaun Ildefonso will be playing out his third and last year as a Bulldog even as younger brother Dave has decided to take his talents - or take back his talents, for that matter - to the Blue Eagles’ nest.
Still, the two seasons shared by the sons of Philippine basketball legend Danny Ildefonso will never ever be forgotten.
Shaun and Dave were part of the core that tried to bring back the bite of National U in the last two years.
Ultimately, things did not work out the way they wanted them to and ultimately, the brothers parted ways.
Still, Dave wants nothing but the best for his older brother - especially with the latter now having to also gear up for the next step of his career. “Alam ko namang mami-miss niya ako,” he said with a laugh.
He then continued, turning serious, “Pero galingan niya na lang. Kaya niya yan.”
At the same time, the future Blue Eagle had one reminder for Shaun. “Kakainin ko pa rin siya ng buhay,” he said, clearly kidding, of course.
One thing’s for sure, the brotherly bond between Shaun and Dave will always be there - and they will have each other’s backs in the former’s last year in college and the latter’s first year as a Blue Eagle.
