The upcoming UAAP Season 82 Men’s Volleyball tournament is bound to be a special one for De La Salle Green Spiker senior Wayne Marco, for a couple of reasons.
Along with being named as the Green Spikers’ team captain, Season 82 will be Marco’s final run in the UAAP, and he hopes to be able to use this final season as a means of impacting the incoming generation of DLSU men’s volleyball stars.
The Green Spikers are coming off a 5-9 finish in UAAP Season 81, finishing sixth in the standings for the fifth-consecutive year.
In this upcoming tournament, Marco says that he and the Green Spikers are coming in motivated, with hopes of finally breaking into the Final Four for the first time since UAAP Season 75.
More on habit yung paglalaro ng volleyball, muscle memory.
Last season, Marco states, should be a lesson for DLSU on always being at your best, especially inside the court.
For the exiting playmaker, the Green Spikers’ ultimate goal is to return to the finals for the first time since Season 65, but understands that it won’t be the easiest of tasks.
The more important thing for Marco is for the Green Spikers to be able to play to the best of their abilities and to not have any regrets in the end.
As for himself and the mark that he would want to leave Taft, Marco states that he wants to be remembered as someone who gave it his all until his final playing days with De La Salle.
“Gusto ko pag sinabing ‘Wayne Marco’, maalala nila na ‘sila yung batch na hindi sinayang yung last year, at mag-iiwan ng patuloy-tuloy na pag-angat.’”
