There was actually never a question whether or not Isa Molde will return for her fifth and final year in UP
When the University of the Philippines bowed out of contention last year, Isa Molde gave no categorical answer on what the future holds for her.
Asked if she would be back for her fifth and final year, she answered then, playful as always, "Secret. Next question."
As it turns out, however, even then, Molde already knew she was returning to the Fighting Maroons. "Last year pang nasa isip at puso kong babalik ako," she said.
Only, the open spiker said she didn't want to share her decision just yet - even though she had always been certain what she wanted. As she put it, "Ako nun, sure akong babalik ako, pero 'di ko lang sinasabi talaga. Siguro, ginusto ko lang munang mag-focus sa Motolite sa PVL."
Fast forward to three weeks ago and Molde - alongside Rem Cailing, Tots Carlos, Justine Dorog, Marist Layug, and Jessma Ramos - announced her return.
And while this is State U's last shot at a championship with the core that brought it to contention in the first place, the 21-year-old said they would not burden themselves with everybody else's expectations. "Personally, gusto ko lang yung team na mag-enjoy every game. Kami, wag namin dapat isipin yung iba at sarili lang namin iintindihin namin," she said.
