All eyes on Dani now that both manong Kiefer and kuya Thirdy are far from Katipunan
No Kiefer. No Thirdy. Just Dani.
That is now how things stand in Ateneo de Manila University as both Ravena boys are no longer playing for the Blue Eagles.
Bong and Mozzy's one and only daughter, however, remains a true-blue Lady Eagle.
And she knows full well their last name now rests entirely on her shoulders - in Katipunan Avenue, at the very least.
"So sad. It means na I won't see him na in campus," she said, referring to kuya (older brother) Thirdy who had just capped off his collegiate career with a three-peat.
She then continued, "For me, I guess it just opens doors na it's just me. Ngayon, all eyes on me."
Make no mistake, however, the libero will not be pressured by whatever everybody expects from her. As she put it, "Ako na nga lang yung Ravena dito so I just have to work on everything I can. I just wanna be the best version of myself every day."
And to be the best version of herself, Ravena is well aware she now has to take on more of a leadership role especially with Ateneo trying to defend its title.
"Of course, Coach O [Oliver Almadro] has been starting to tell me na ako na yung next in line so I really have to be an ate (big sister) na," she shared.
She then continued, "Kahit ako, personally, I'm not ready to be one, but I have to accept that role. I just have to work on it."
Indeed, from one of the young guns, the 20-year-old is actually now one of the pillars for the Lady Eagles' continued contention.
And of course, Ravena's experience and how she will share it will be the first step in her growth as a leader.
"I'm in my third year so expectation ko for myself is growth as an individual especially on the court. I experienced the championship and semis feeling so that's what I can share to the young ones," she said.
