Cholo Anonuevo's wish has been granted.
One of the breakout players in the UAAP Season 82 Men's Basketball Tournament will be continuing his career with Far Eastern University next season.
"I'll stay in FEU po," he said, confirming that he will indeed move on up to the Tamaraws after he wraps up his run with the title hopeful Baby Tamaraws.
This, not long after the 6-foot-4 forward expressed his intention to remain in green and gold from now until the foreseeable future. "I hope I can continue in FEU. Focused on this season muna, pero if I had a choice, I still want FEU," he had said as he winds up his second and final season in the Jrs.
Anonuevos' second and final season in the Jrs. has seen him take a leap, posting per game counts of 9.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.0 steals in 27 minutes after a rookie year where he averaged 5.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 22 minutes.
He will join forces with fellow former Baby Tamaraws in RJ Abarrientos Royce Alforque, L-Jay Gonzales, and Xyrus Torres in the green and gold's new era of contention.
"I just see myself fitting in there and learning from the guys," he shared. "Of course, the coaches too because most of them are ex-players and I can learn a lot from them and their experiences."
According to head coach Olsen Racela, they expect the 18-year-old to start suiting up for them in the upcoming 2020 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup tipping off in March.
