Bismarck Lina's dream is coming true.
Lina will be staying in University of Sto. Tomas and become the latest Tiger-Cub-turned-Growling-Tiger for this year's UAAP Men's Basketball Tournament.
The 6-foot-4 big man has played the last three years for UST High and turned himself into a double-double machine.
In his last season in the Jrs., he posted per game counts of 16.6 points in 54.7 percent shooting, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
More impressive were his numbers in the second round where he had a double-double in each and every game, averaging 19.3 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
More than basketball, however, Lina is remaining in Espana because it is his dream school. "Ever since po, pinangarap ko na talagang makapaglaro sa college for UST. Yan po ang naging motivation ko every time naglalaro ako," he said.
He then continued, "Pagmamahal pop sa school ang nag-prevail sa akin."
The 18-year-old follows in the footsteps of CJ Cansino and Mark Nonoy as Tiger Cubs who will be expected to make an immediate impact with the Growling Tigers.
