Nazareth School of National University is two wins away from a rare feat in the UAAP 82 Boys Basketball Tournament.

If the Bullpups win their next two games, they will complete a clean sweep of the season - matching the achievement of the school's Season 76 champion team.

Of course, automatically advancing and being two wins away from another title has its perks. "Sobrang saya namin kasi first time namin ni Coach Gold [Monteverde] mag-sweep. May time kami para makapag-prepare para sa Finals," team captain Gerry Abadiano said.

Still, that much time away from action also has its drawbacks. Asked what the team, which last played three weeks ago, is wary of, Abadiano answered, "Yung pagre-relax ng team namin. May mga team kasing naka-sweep like (San) Beda sa NCAA tapos pagdating sa Finals, natalo sa Letran," he shared.

In last year's NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, San Beda University swept the elimination round only to lose Game 1 of the best-of-three Finals opposite archrival Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

The Red Lions bounced back in Game 2, but ultimately fell to the Knights in Game 3.

And so, what was supposedly the biggest season sweep in the history of the Grand Old League instead became a lost championship.

Without a doubt, National U wants to stay far away from that. "Yun yung ayaw naming mangyari kaya pinapaalalahanan talaga kami ng coaches na wag mag-relax, wag makuntento sa kung anong narating namin," their skipper shared.

With second-seed Far Eastern University-Diliman having disposed of Adamson High School, the expected Finals in the tournament has now turned into a reality.

Still, the mindset will not change for the Bullpups - even if they will now be matched up opposite the Baby Tamaraws whom they had downed both times in the elimination round. As he put it, "'Di namin iniisip kung sino kalaban namin. It's not about sa kalaban namin, it's about sa team namin."

He then continued, "Kung sinumang kalaban, magpe-prepare kami nang pareho, nang maayos."
