Defending champion National University goes for its second straight win squares off with debuting Adamson University on Sunday in the UAAP Season 82 men’s volleyball tournament at the MOA Arena.

Game time is at 9:00 a.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

The Bulldogs opened its three-peat bid on the right track albeit in shaky fashion, beating University of Sto. Tomas, 27-25, 23-25, 25-19, 27-25, last Wednesday.

NU will again bank on its deep arsenal led by Nico Almendras, Edward Camposano and James Natividad, who all scored in double figures the last time out, to extend the current winning streak of the Bulldogs to 18.

“’Yung focus namin is ‘yung pagiging consistent hindi lang sa blocking, pati sa rotation naming,” said NU coach Dante Alinsunurin.

The Falcons are out for payback against the same team that beat them in the Final Four last year.

Back for another tour of duty are Leo Miranda and George Labang.

Meanwhile, Far Eastern University is also on the lookout for a second win in a row, facing off with University of Sto. Tomas.

The Tamaraws, last year’s runners-up, crushed University of the East, 25-10, 25-22, 25-23, behind rookie JJ Javelona and graduating middle Peter Quiel.

Mark Calado, Jude Garcia, setter Owen Suarez and JP Bugaoan will provide support for Javelona and Quiel.

The Golden Spikers, on the other hand, are raring to get in the win column after suffering a stinging setback in their opening day assignment.

Joshua Umandal, who had 25 points in his first game, Jhun Senoron and Wewe Medina will lead the charge for the Espana-based squad.
