Jake Figueroa of Adamson High School came out of nowhere to emerge as the top individual player in the UAAP 82 Boys Basketball Tournament.

Even more impressive, Figueroa was hailed as Season MVP, Monday at Filoil Flying V Centre and he is only a first-year player.

Make no mistake, however, the hardworking forward is only worthy of the award as he is the league's second-best rebounder at 14.1 per game and seventh-best playmaker at 3.1 per game all while also averaging 13.2 points, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks.

Those numbers granted him a six-point cushion from closest competitor Josh Lazaro of Ateneo High School as the former wound up with 73.00 Statistical Points (SPs) to the latter's 66.79 SPs.

With that, Figueroa is officially the first Baby Falcon to be named MVP since Mark Juruena way back in Season 71.

Even better for San Marcelino, the first-year player will be back for more and will now be headed to a season where he and partner-in-crime Matty Erolon hope to end a 26-year title drought.
