Week 1 of UAAP Season 82 volleyball was certainly action packed.
Hopefully, you didn't miss any of it.
If you did, which is quite unfortunate, let's catch you up with a quick By the Numbers look before serve is up once again.
Current active winning streak by La Salle against Ateneo in the regular season of UAAP women's Volleyball.
The Lady Spikers extended their mastery of the Lady Eagles over the weekend, starting Season 82 with a rousing four-set win against the defending champions.
You'll have to go back to UAAP Season 79 for an Ateneo win in this heated rivalry, and even then La Salle swept the Lady Eagles in the Finals, which would push the actual active streak to seven games.
Just as expected, the first encounter between defending champion Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University drew a large crowd.
The MOA Arena was jampacked with fans, forming a sea of blue and green - all despite the current situation of the novel corona virus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Total errors for La Salle in its opening game against Ateneo, which is tied for season-high so far.
Nevertheless, the Lady Spikers were impressive in their four-set smacking of the defending champs and one could argue the game was way closer than it should because La Salle gave away too many points.
UST was the other team that recorded 33 errors. The Golden Tigresses posted the number in a season-opening loss to NU that went a full five sets.
Total points for UP's Isa Molde in the win against UE.
Isa-mazing currently has the season-high in points for womens volleyball in the UAAP after leading the Lady Maroons to their first win.
Molde connected on 18 spikes, got four blocks, and fired two aces in a fine all-around performance.
Total points for NU's Margot Mutshima in the Lady Bulldogs' win over UST to start the year off.
In an explosive opening performance, Mutshima owns the highest output by any rookie so far.
Total points for UST's EJ Laure in her first UAAP game back after missing two seasons.
It's like Laser Laure never left to be honest.
The highest single-game point production this season.
Sophomore Lloyd Josafat holds the honor of putting up the most points in a match this season after leading University of teh East to a four-set win over University of the Philippines in the men's division.
Josafat hammered 28 attack points with three kill blocks and an ace to help the Red Warriors get in the win column after two outings.
Tha active winning streak of the two-time men's defending champion National University Bulldogs since last season.
Despite the departure of its key players including scoring leader Bryan Bagunas after last season's title conquest, NU remains to be a very strong team and the Bulldogs let known their intention of keeping the title in their hands.
NU won its first two games, rolling past University of Sto. Tomas and Adamson University for a hold of the top spot. The Bulldogs won 16 straight last season after dropping its opening day game.
